My dear friends, colleagues, and staff,
It is that time of year again when we look back at the year that was and say thanks for everything, good and bad, and pray for an even better year ahead.
For us at PRIMEX, 2011 was marked by several firsts, for which we are thankful for –
- Our first World Bank (WB) project in the health sector;
- Our first major health project in Bangladesh;
- Our first health project in Laos; and
- Our first project in the forestry sector since 1994.
We were also blessed with new people joining our Team –
- Mr. Guillermo (Emong) Morales, who finally accepted the Executive Vice-President post after more than 10 years of working with PRIMEX as Team Leader in two large ADB loan-funded coastal resource management (CRM) projects in Indonesia;
- Dr. Florante (Sonny) Magboo, who agreed to serve as our Vice President for Technical Services and Business Development after being PRIMEX Health Consultant since 2005;
- Dr. Jacques Jeugmans, who retired as the highest ranking health professional in ADB in December 2010 and is now our Senior Adviser and soon-to-be Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Transaction Expert in our ongoing ADB health project in Bangladesh;
- Mr. Jamil Rahman, another former senior ADB professional staffmember, who agreed to serve as Team Leader/Project Readiness Specialist for our ongoing health project in Bangladesh;
- Ms. Lourdes Caballero, who is now a Senior Technical Services and Business Development Assistant and concurrently Knowledge Management Specialist in two PRIMEX projects; and
- Ms. Khristine Tan and Ms. Janice Bartolome, two of our recently hired finance and administration assistants.
We have also several consultants working with PRIMEX for the first time:
- Dr. Manuel Bonita, Ms. Elda Montera, Dr. Rafael Creencia, Ms. Rosa Perez, and Mr. Feliciano Opena of our consultant team for the ADB Technical Assistance for Decentralized Framework for Natural Resources and Rural Infrastructure Management, Philippines (TA 7716-PHI);
- Mr. Jamil Rahman, Dr. Jacques Jeugmans, Dr. Francisco Flores Katayama, and Mr. Conrado Espinar of our consultant team for the ADB Technical Assistance for the Urban Primary Health Care Sector Development Project, Bangladesh (TA 7655-BAN);
- Mr. Conrado Espinar, Ms. Daisy Zita, and Mr. Ronaldo Jabal of our consultant team for the WB Third Party Independent Verification of the Mindanao Health Sector Reform Project, Philippines; and
- Mr. Rollan Geronimo and Mr. Reniel Cabral of our consultant team for the ADB Technical Assistance for Regional Cooperation in Knowledge Management, Policy, and Institutional Support to the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) (TA 7307-REG).
We are grateful to you all for your hard work, the long nights and working weekends, and for sharing PRIMEX’s commitment to quality and excellence. We hope that the professional and personal relationships that we began this year will continue till 2012 and beyond.
Maraming salamat po at Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon sa inyong lahat!
