Ms. Elvira Ablaza, PRIMEX President and CEO, made a recent trip to Vientiane, the Laotian capital, for meetings with Lao Consulting Group (LCG) and Bureau Etudes Lao (BEL) to explore possible collaboration in the preparation of bids for ADB-funded projects in Lao PDR, particularly in the health, agriculture, and social sectors.

At LCG, she met with Ms. Manilay Bouavong, Managing Director, and Mr. Henry Tucker, formerly of ADB and now LCG consultant. At BEL, she held discussions with Ms. Somsisouk Inthavong and Mr. Vibaun Sihachakr, the company’s founders and managers.

Trip to LaosWhile in Vientiane, Ms. Ablaza also visited the Ministry of Health (MOH) for an introductory meeting with senior officials involved in the implementation of ADB’s health sector project, and with two Filipino HIV specialists (Dr. Boyet Roquero and Dr. Caloy Calica) now working in Laos.

From there, Ms. Ablaza proceeded to Hanoi in Vietnam for meetings with senior officials of the General Directorate of Vocational Training (DGVT) of the Ministry of Labour, Interior, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in connection with PRIMEX’s shortlisting for the ADB PPTA for the Skills Enhancement Project.

She also met with the Ms. Nguyen Phoung Chi and Ms. Nguyen Thao, Managing Director and Deputy Director, respectively, of Strategic Consultancy Company (SCC), a Vietnamese consulting firm which PRIMEX has selected to be its associate in the preparation of the proposal for the Skills Enhancement Project.
