Ms. Elvira C. Ablaza, PRIMEX CEO, warmly welcomed him and expressed her optimism that he will be an asset to the team. “Doc Sonny,” as he is fondly called by colleagues, will help the President and the Senior Vice-President in business development and marketing efforts, both with multilateral organizations and national government agencies. He will also ensure that ongoing projects get the needed administrative and technical support. For these tasks, Doc Sonny will draw on his extensive experience as a project manager and senior public health specialist in the last two decades. His previous engagements included planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Pakistan. These assignments enabled Doc Sonny to exercise his leadership in project management and honed his skills in policy review and formulation as well as in field operations. Doc Sonny is also an expert in monitoring and evaluation, managing databases, linking surveillance databases to policy and program development, building capacities, and developing competencies in epidemiology, communication, data analysis, and management. |
