PRIMEX Information Technology Specialist, Mr. Jay Lowell Payuyo, has been engaged by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to help link and populate information websites that promote regional cooperation on knowledge management in support to the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI).
Mr. Payuyo's engagement is under the CTI project,"Portfolio Learning in International Waters with a Focus on Oceans, Coasts, and Islands and Regional Asia/Pacific and Coral Triangle Learning processes: Regional Cooperation on Knowledge Management, Policy and Institutional Support to the Coral Triangle Initiative (PIMS: 4164)."
Mr. Payuyo is working with ADB and an international Knowledge Management Specialist in providing advice on technical considerations in linking and populating the CTI and Global Environment Facility (GEF) - Pacific Alliance for Sustainability (GEF-PAS) websites with information relevant to GEF-International Water Learning Exchange and Resource Network (IW: LEARN). He is helping ensure that all knowledge-sharing and experience-sharing information relevant to the CTI and IW:LEARN is collected and wisely disseminated.
“This is one undertaking that encourages member countries and other stakeholders to collaborate by sharing as much information as they can in building the resource network for the preservation of our marine and coastal resources,” Mr. Payuyo said.
Launched in 2007, CTI is a regional effort that aims to preserve and manage the region's marine resources. As its international partner, ADB is coordinating the mobilization of financial support for the plan of action. The Coral Triangle, which is the center of the world's coral reef biological diversity, covers areas of Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste.
