In celebration of International Women's Month this coming March, PRIMEX is partnering with a local government unit (LGU) and a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider in organizing two separate fora that will promote gender and development as well as women's health in the workplace.

In partnership with the Provincial Government of Quezon, PRIMEX will be conducting Gender and Development training orientation for Quezon province's local chief executives. The provincial governor, Hon. Rafael Nantes, is the only governor who sits in the Regional Development Committee sub-committee on Gender and Development.

Another forum called Health and Wellness in the Workplace will be held for some 250 call center agents in partnership with Sitel, a leading global BPO provider of customer care and complementary back-office processes.

While the date for the Quezon orientation has not been finalized, the forum for call center agents, is expected to raise awareness on their vulnerabilities to sexually transmitted infections (STI) from risky behaviours, has been set on 24-28 March 2009.

The forum seeks to model a healthy, well-informed and responsible workforce and the benefits that come with building health risk awareness among BPO agents. (Arvin Yana/ PRIMEX)
