PRIMEX has completed conducting a total of eight batches of provincial training/orientation on dengue prevention and control benefiting a total of 890 participants across the country from February to June this year.
The training series, which also targeted community leaders and non-health personnel, was a major deliverable under the extension phase of the Philippine subproject of the ADB regional technical assistance to address the outbreak of SARS, Avian Influenza, and other emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) (RETA 6108).
The training workshops were organized and managed by PRIMEX in close collaboration with the DOH’s NationalCenter for Disease Prevention and Control (NCDPC), under the leadership of Dr. Lyndon Leesuy, Program Manager, and delivered by a training team composed of senior technical experts in dengue prevention and control.
The training integrated Dengue Management Training for Primary Health Workers and Hospital Personnel with simplified orientation on Dengue for Community Leaders and Non-Health Personnel.

In parallel with the training series, a community-based dengue prevention initiative, Communication for Behavior Impact (COMBI) was launched in two sites: La Trinidad, BenguetProvince and San FernandoCity, Pampanga.
