PRIMEX's pillars and their colleagues from the consulting industry converged at the Richmonde Hotel in Ortigas Center last 7 August 2008 to celebrate the company's 19th founding anniversary with a program that paid homage to its relationships with clients, consultants, and partners.

Guests from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the private sector joined PRIMEX directors, managers, staff, and consultants in thanksgiving for 19 fruitful years and numerous blessings marked by successful forays into the global arena.

Speaking of her experience while co-implementing the Fisheries Resources Management Project (FRMP) with PRIMEX, BFAR-Region IV-A Assistant Regional Director Esmeralda Paz Manalang stressed the sense of family that PRIMEX has consistently demonstrated towards its partners and consultants. "Inherent in PRIMEX's management style is its culture of care and nurturing for its team, which I have personally experienced," Ms. Manalang said in her brief anniversary message.

Ms. Manalang's testimony on this sense of belonging with PRIMEX was shared by Mr. Raul Roldan, who was PRIMEX's consultant for seven years as Team Leader of the Project Management Consultant Team for FRMP.

"It was seven years of hard work – dealing with hundreds of personalities, hundreds of opinions to be addressed. It was seven years of a difficult, but fruitful, learning experience because of the opportunity to work with an excellent company like PRIMEX. I truly had that feeling of belonging. A gem, no matter where you put it, will shine – that is how I look at PRIMEX," Mr. Roldan said.

Mr. Guillermo L. Morales, former BFAR Director and PRIMEX Senior Consultant since 1998, shared how he worked with other consultants and saw how they always complained about their companies in terms of support that they were hardly getting. "But based on my experience with PRIMEX, the support is always there, sometimes even exceeding expectations. Vi's (President/CEO Elvira Ablaza) heart is always open to the needs of her consultants,” Morales said.

Former DOH Regional Director and now PRIMEX Senior Health Consultant, Dr. Jose Rodriguez, said that PRIMEX's excellent performance will surely leave a mark in the consulting industry. "I have been impressed by the high degree of professionalism and the excellent work PRIMEX is doing not only in the Philippines but in other countries in Asia," Dr. Rodriguez said. "Consultants like me come and go, but I do believe that PRIMEX will be here for a long, long time."

Humbled by the messages, President/CEO Ablaza acknowledged the pillars of PRIMEX, especially those who joined her in putting up this once small firm 19 years ago: Chairman Emeritus Jose P. Leviste, Jr., Corporate Treasurer Atty. Walfredo Sumilang, and Senior Vice-President Ma. Lourdes Sumilang.

PRIMEX Chairman, Dr. Jerome F. Sison, closed the program with a word of appreciation for Ms. Ablaza’s unflinching dedication in bringing PRIMEX to where it is today. "She has led the company from the start through thick and thin, through hard times and good times. She hardly complains of the long hours she puts in," Dr. Sison said of the President.

The program was also graced by Globe Telecom CEO Gerardo Ablaza, who led the blessing of the newly renovated PRIMEX office before the anniversary dinner. (Arvin Yana/PRIMEX)
