Project Description

The Project is the second phase of a national coral reef rehabilitation and management program aimed at promoting healthy coral reef ecosystems and prosperous coastal communities. More specifically, the Project will enhance the national and local capacity to manage the country’s coral reef resources and rehabilitate and effectively manage priority coral reef ecosystems, thereby helping raise income levels and improving living standards among poor coastal communities.

The Project will be implemented over a six-year period in four phases: (i) Phase I, Inception; (ii) Phase II, Detailed Planning; (iii) Phase III, Implementation Proper; and (iv) Phase IV, Concluding Phase. In essence, the first year of the Services will mainly involve the provision of technical advice and assistance to PMO/RPIUs in their numerous Project planning and pre-implementation activities, such as the full establishment of the PMO/RPIUs, the formulation of TORs and procedural guidelines for the conduct of studies/surveys, and the engagement of contractors for various services, as well as technical review and assessment work. The second through fifth years of the Services would involve the provision of continuing assistance to PMO/RPIUs in the implementation of the numerous activities under the two Project components.

PRIMEX is providing the services of Project Management Specialist/Team Leader, Institutional Development Specialist, Training and Extension Specialist, and Policy and Planning Specialist for the Project Management Consultant Team.
