PRIMEX President Ms. Elvira C. Ablaza and Senior Vice President Ma. Lourdes Sumilang joined some 4,000 delegates who attended the 44th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) last 3-6 May 2011 in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
The four-day Meeting, which was held at Viet Nam’s National Convention Center (NCC), gathered government leaders, governors of central banks, ministers of economy and finance, high-level officials of international economic and financial institutions and delegates from non-government organizations and ADB’s accredited consulting service providers, including PRIMEX.
The event was highlighted by nearly 40 events, including plenary sessions, 14 seminars, meetings between finance ministers, group meetings between delegations of countries and territories, banquets, bilateral and multilateral meetings and social activities, including a reception hosted by ADB President Hirohiko Kuroda and another reception hosted by the Government of Viet Nam.
At the conclusion of the four-day event, ADB announced that the 2012 meeting will be held in Manila.
Ms. Ablaza and Ms. Sumilang attended several of the seminars, including that on climate change risk and resilience, ADB’s report on their performance in 2010, country presentations of Indonesia and Bangladesh, as well as a panel discussion on Daylight in the Philippines: Accelerating Growth where NEDA Director General Cayetano Paderanga was a panelist.
The ADB AGM was also an excellent networking event, with ADB’s senior management and chief executives and senior officers of other consulting firms in attendance.
While in Hanoi, Ms. Ablaza and Ms. Sumilang met with Ms. Nguyen Phuong Chi and Ms. Nguyen Thao, senior executives of PRIMEX’s Vietnamese partner firm, Strategic Consultancy Company (SCC), with whom PRIMEX is currently implementing an ADB PPTA to prepare an investment program in three provinces in central Viet Nam.
