DR. JEROME F. SISON – Director

Dr. Sison is a highly respected economist and financial analyst with a wealth of experience in the planning, design, and evaluation of development projects across sectors, particularly agriculture, fisheries and coastal resource management, and irrigation and water management. Since 1983, he has completed a total of 67 for ADB and other agencies and he he has worked in 14 countries – Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Viet Nam.

Of this total, seven engagements were as Team Leader/Economist,and ten were as Economist or Financial Analyst in various technical assistance projects and donor agency missions (TA fact-finding, loan fact-finding and appraisal, project review and reformulation, completion review, project performance audit).

Prior to joining PRIMEX in 1994, Dr. Sison was Associate Professor at the Agricultural Economics Department, College of Economics and Management, University of the Philippines at Los Baños (UPLB), where he was a member of the Faculty from 1973 and Executive Director of the Center for Policy and Development Studies (CPDS) in 1987‑1991 and 1993‑1994. He was a Distinguished Alumnus awardee of CEM, UPLB in October 1994.

Dr. Sison graduated with a Ph D in Agricultural Economics from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada in 1983 and holds an MS in Agricultural Economics and a BS in Agriculture (major in Agribusiness), both from UPLB. He was a Research Fellow of the International Food Policy Institute (IFPRI)/International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippnes from 1983-1987 and completed Training in Economic Analysis at the Economics Institute of Colorado University, USA from June – August 1977.
